Jordan Dargan made himself known in Dancing with the Stars on Sunday night.

Week three was Movie Night and saw the celebrities embody some of their favourite films. The Apprentice UK star went for Avatar, the film that inspired him to get into business. He performed a Contemporary Ballroom to the theme from Avatar and was awarded an impressive 34 from the judges.

The Dub confessed that he can be hard on himself as, unsurprisingly, he’s very competitive.

“I was probably comparing myself [to the other contestants] a lot at the start,” he tells VIP Magazine.

“I was thinking, ‘These lads are finished their dance on Wednesday, and I’m only halfway through mine’ and I was getting bogged down by that.”

He confesses: “I’m never going to be fully satisfied until we go out there and do our performance. But that is the businessman in me, I’m just a competitive guy.”

He laughs as he says: “Anyone on the show who says they wouldn’t like to go all the way is lying. We all want to go all the way that’s putting it bluntly, but you can only take it one week at a time, if you want win.”

It’s safe to say that this is a brand new side to his life as he swaps his nine-to-five for the dancefloor. He jokes that his hips and legs are aching!

“I’m used to sitting at a desk doing 3D animation; now I’m jumping around pretending I’m an Avatar. It’s been very different, but very fun.”

While he received three nines and a seven on Sunday night, he still received some harsh comments from everyone’s favourite bad guy, Brian Redmond. Of course, he is used to harsh critique from his time on The Apprentice where Alan Sugar isn’t afraid to get those digs in.

“It’s very close [between Brian and Alan Sugar] in that Brian is not always going to give you the roses, and what you want to hear. But it’s always feedback you can use going into the next week, to get better and move on,” he says.

“When someone gives you criticism you have to take it. The only thing is me and Brian are Manchester United fans.”

Dancing with the Stars continues on Sundays at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player
