The Irish Film and Television Awards are just around the corner.

Now they have revealed the nominees for the Rising Star Award.
And we have to say they’re a good bunch.
The winner will be announced at the ceremony on February 14th.
The nominees were elected by a special jury and sponsored by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland.
This year Anthony Boyle (actor – Say Nothing, Masters of the Air, House of Guinness, Manhunt), Aislinn Clarke (Writer/Director – Fréwaka, The Devil’s Doorway, Eye Exam?, Clinton Liberty (Actor – House of the Dragon, Holding, Red Election, Normal People) and Alisha Weir (Actor – Abigail, Wicked Little Letters, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical) were nominated.
Previous winners of the Rising Star Award include the likes of Saoirse Ronan, Michael Fassbender, Nicola Coughlan and Domhnall Gleeson.

Well it’s a tough bunch to chose from as these stars are all so deserving!
Kneecap are leading the nominations for their film which has received critical acclaim across the globe.
Kneecap has received 17 nominations, including Best Film, Acting, and Directing categories.
Other big films include Cillian Murphy’s Small Things Like These which received nine nominations, Kathleen Is Here which got seven, and Spilt Milk and the Donald Trump biopic, The Apprentice, both with four.
