Influencer Grace Mongey has opened up about her experience with online trolling.
Chatting on ‘The Talk’ on RTÉ Player, Grace said that at one point the trolling got so much that she considered quitting her job in influencing and working in an office instead.
“There was a point where I just wanted to throw the towel in, get an office job and give it all up”
However, Grace says that she sought help through therapy and has since built up a stronger mentality to not allow the words and actions of others to hurt her.
“I am in a very strong state of mind now and I can just brush it off”

Sharing a clip of her conversation on Instagram, Grace said that this conversation was hard, but necessary for her to have.
“Documenting the highs and lows of it to show you all that it is ok and help you open up and understand your own mental health. On this episode I chatted about a particularly hard time last year when I almost threw in the towel and had a complete change of career.”
“Trolling’ was at an all-time high and my mental health was at an all-time low. I wasn’t coping very well and the added pressure of sharing my life online wasn’t helping”
“I promised myself and my family and friends I would never go onto certain websites again and read horrible things about myself”

Now, Grace says that she’s in the best place she’s ever been a looking forward to her wedding day, which is just weeks away.
“A year on and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m sure you all can see it as you all send me the nicest messages saying I look much happier now. This is my year and I’m so glad I found the strength to fight back.”
“I’m just a few short weeks I’ll be getting married to the love of my life and when I look back at the person I was last year I hardly recognise her.”
