Eric Roberts is loving Dancing with the Stars, but just a handful of years ago the Donegal man would never expected to be in this position.
He got his start on social media, showcasing his comedy chops. Since then, he went on to appear on Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge and is now one of the hosts of Ireland AM.
He confesses that in recent years his life has been “flipped on its head”.
“I’ve been a fan of the show for years. I only got into showbiz recently. I was 30 years of age before I started putting myself out there online. My life has been flipped on its head,” he tells VIP Magazine after Sunday night’s performance.

“I would call the rest of the people celebrities and I don’t feel like one at all. I feel lucky to be here and very grateful for the experience. I feel like that with everything I’ve done for the last couple of years. I come into Ireland AM with a big smile on my face.
“I feel like I haven’t worked since I left my job as a Special Needs Assistant. I’m so, so grateful. I am incredibly aware of the situation I’m in, and I hope I never lose it. It’s been the most incredible experience so far.”
Speaking about how Dancing with the Stars compares to other experiences he’s had in recent years, explaining “this stands alone”.

“Squid Games was a huge production and so produced, it was an incredible experience. But [Dancing with the Stars] all falls on my shoulders,” he admits.
“I love live television with Ireland AM but again I have my iPad there, I have my prompter, I have people in my ear. But this is all how much I put in and how much I get out.”
Well we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us this week!
Dancing with the Stars airs Sundays at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player
