2025 was a different year for us, as we had no Operation Transformation to watch every week.
Even more different for Kathryn Thomas who hosted the show and spent months working on it. But she’s decided to grab 2025 by the horns.
She has her own radio show on Radio Nova, she’s commissioning documentaries and she’s spending more time with her girls, Ellie and Grace.
We caught up with her on the Platinum VIP Style Awards red carpet, to chat about her new era…

Hi Kathryn, you look fabulous! But we have to chat about your new radio show!
Loving every minute of it. Loving waking up in the morning and brightening people’s days. The early mornings are not knocking a feather out of me because I’m so tired I get into bed with the girls at half eight and I kind of go to sleep at 9 o’clock. Friday’s get tough. Usually, I’m in bed at this time or certainly ordering a Chinese and sitting on the couch. But, yeah I’m in great form.
This year’s been a bit different, obviously, we didn’t have Operation Transformation and you have a new radio show, so how has 2025 been shaping up for you?
Oh, it’s brilliant, I’ve worked so hard on the Skinny Jab Revolution documentary that I shot. So, I produced it, we presented it, it was the first commission for my company. So that was all right up until January and that broadcast in March. New radio show, so I literally haven’t had a second. Mind you, I did a sneaky weekend to Greece with my sister. We flew to Santorini on Friday and flew back on Monday. So, yeah anybody who is feeling anyway sorry for me on having to get up early, no they shouldn’t.
That documentary was truly eye-opening. When you were working on it did it shock you how popular it’s become?
No nothing shocks me anymore. No, I think it’s just become part of society. I don’t judge anybody, I just put the regulations around it. It needs to be tightened, it needs to be looked at and if somebody is taking something safely or being advised by their doctor to take something. But for me, I love exercise, I love food. It’s not about being skinny, it’s about being healthy, you know, and that’s always been my thing. I love how exercise makes me feel. It’s not a substitute for just eating a small amount of s**t food as opposed to eating a large amount of good food, which is what I like to do. I couldn’t imagine a life without food. I enjoy it too much, and I know friends who are just not eating. I’ll say will you come for dinner and they’ll say, ‘no because I’m on [weight loss medication] Mounjaro’, I’m like Jesus life is too short people. You know.

There is nothing better than going for a walk, honestly!
You do feel good after it and it’s all about building your bones and your strength and getting to 80 and being able to get off a chair. You can take Mounjaro and be skinny, but you’ve got to look after all the bones and your health and your head as well.
What are the plans for the summer? Anymore secret trips?
I’d definitely go away again. I have a week off in July, so we’ll probably go down to Wexford, and then likely go away and do a family holiday at some point, with the kids. So, you know me, I have to go away and do a bit of travelling.
