Here’s what’s new to RTÉ over the next few weeks

Just because we’ve said goodbye to Christmas, doesn’t mean that hibernation season is over. The tree may be down and the last tin of Roses demolished, but the next couple of months of cold weather still mean that we love nothing more than getting cosy in front of the TV in the evenings.

With that in mind, we of course need something to watch and RTÉ have plenty of newness on the way for the New Year of programming!

One of the show’s we’re most excited to see back on our screens is Dancing with the Stars, with the full line-up of contestants being announced last year and it’s set to feature a whole host of Irish celebs from Erica Cody, Neil Delamare, Gráinne Seoige, Aengus Mac Grianna and Ellen Keane, as well as many more!

You can watch the new season from Sunday the 9th of January, exactly what’s needed to add some sparkle and glamour to the start of the year.

Tommy Tiernan is set to return with his hugely successful chat show, much to the delight of viewers.

The Tommy Tiernan show will see the comedian once again be surprised with guests in the moment for unique and intimate conversations, we look forward him being back on our screens!

Smother

Everyone’s favourite drama from last year, Smother, is back for season two. Set on the rugged west coast of Ireland we’ll see Val and the Ahern family back very soon and is sure to keep us entertained throughout January.

Suzanne Jackson

If it’s a bit of style and glamour you’re looking for on these dark evenings, Suzanne Jackson is back with a brand new series of The Style Counsellors.

The show will see six new candidates getting the fashion and lifestyle transformation of their dreams as Suzanne guides them along the way.

Dermot Bannon fans it’s time to get excited as the nation’s favourite architect is back on our screens with a brand new season of Room to Improve.

After multiple delays due to the pandemic, the show returns to RTÉ One for its 13th season in February 2022.

If it’s more home styling and inspiration you’re after, then you’ll be delighted to know that Home of the Year is coming back too!

This will be the show’s eighth series and will see Hugh Wallace and Amanda Bone joined by a brand new judge that is soon to be revealed.
