Who’s ready for a summer of St Anne’s Park gigs?

June is almost here, meaning our favourite St Anne’s Park concerts are fast approaching. We can’t believe the shows kick off this weekend! It’s truly going to be a season of epic music.

The Lumineers will be taking to the stage on Friday, June 2nd along with Sigrid and Vance Joy while Soft Cell takes to the stage on Saturday the 3rd alongside OMD, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Heaven 17.

On Sunday, Lionel Richie will be taking to the stage with The Human League and In Tua Nua.

The 1975 will be on stage Wednesday, June 7th and finally Pulp will be joined on stage by Richard Hawley and The Orielles on Friday, June 9th.

Gates are scheduled to open at 5pm with performances starting at 6pm.

It has been announced by MCD that queueing will not be allowed prior to the event!

So what exactly do you need to know? We’ve put a list together to help you figure it all out.

Check the forecast and dress appropriately.

St Anne’s Park is a standing only venue and all gigs take place outdoors on grass, so checking the forecast and preparing for the unpredictable Irish weather is a must – think wellies, boots or runners, layers, raincoats/ponchos and sun cream.

There are two entrance routes – Blue and Green – and you can enter through whichever is most convenient for you, bearing in mind both involve a 1.3km walk from the entrance to St Anne’s Park.

Backpacks and large handbags are not allowed and there will be no cloakroom or storage facilities available to use on site – it is in the middle of a park after all!

Strict security checks will be in operation and you are advised against bringing big bags as you will most likely be refused entry and experience delays on entry.

You can not leave your bags at the entrance to the park if you do they will be removed and destroyed.

Glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks, flares are just some of the items you are not permitted to bring inside the park with a full list available to view here www.mcd.ie/prohibited-items.

Professional cameras and cameras with a detachable lens as well as video cameras and audio recording devices, IPads and GoPros are not permitted inside the park.

Getting there

Don’t forget to book your transport in advance leaving about an extra two hours there and back from the venue.

You’re encouraged to use any mode of public transport along with cycling and walking as parking is limited and there will be lots of delays as a result.

If you’re taking the DART to the concert venue, you’re best exiting the DART at Harmonstown station for the best access.

Follow one of these approach routes – Green Entrance: Sybil Hill onto main avenue, or Blue Entrance: All Saints Road, via Tennis Court entry – to get you there on time and with no mishaps.

There will be one box office/guest list point, located on the main avenue in St Anne’s Park, ahead of the ticket check point.

This will be adjacent to where the Green and Blue routes meet.

Please download your tickets to your phone ahead of the event – don’t wait until the day.

After all that, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy yourself!
