Ireland AM viewers are in for a treat as Gráinne Seoige will be joining the show for the next week. Presenting along side Tommy Bowe and Alan Hughes.

The presenter will be taking over from Muireann O’Connell as she heads on holidays.

Following her first morning on the show, the Galway girl took to Instagram to gush about the experience.

Writing; “So lovely to be back with the gang @irelandamvmtv while @muireann.o has a well earned break”

“Smiles and craic from @alanhughestv @tommybowe and everyone on the team even on a Monday morning!”

Gráinne’s return to hosting makes sense, as she recently opened up about missing the experience, especially since her former afternoon RTE show with sister Síle, which was axed over 10 years ago.

The siblings, who hosted the show aptly titled ‘Seogie’ were left shocked when it was bumped by RTE in 2009, despite good ratings.

“It was rating really well. My emotional attachment was one thing but it was also doing great with the viewers” Grainne told RSVP Magazine.

“So that felt like a counterintuitive move to pull something that was working well”

Continuing on, Grainne said that working with her sister was a great experience and something that she wouldn’t rule out doing again sometime in the future.

“I had a great experience working with my sister as well. People still say that it was very powerful to have two people who are related working together”

“Maybe we will do it again. We had Richard Madeley, of Richard and Judy fame, in with his son. He said on air and he also told us off that it was a very powerful dynamic”

“It was two people who love each other and know each other inside out, but also aren’t afraid to disagree. It was precious and you won’t get that with any other partnership”
