Could Wild Youth be this year’s “dark horses” in the Eurovision Song Contest?

Well if Graham Norton’s opinion is anything to go by – which it certainly is – then yes!

That’s right, the TV host has just deemed the Irish band as this year’s one to watch in the annual song contest.

Chatting on ITV’s Lorraine, the Cork native shared his thoughts on this year’s competition.

“What I like about it is that it’s in Liverpool, but actually it’s in the UK, there’s a real sense that everyone is excited about this.”

“Mae Muller [United Kingdom] is really, really good, Loreen is the favourite from Sweden, [but] I think little dark horses might be those boys from Ireland,” Graham added.

“It’s a good athematic song and I just saw a little bit of their dress rehearsal and it’s really well styled.

“They’ve got a disco gold jumpsuit… if they get through the semi-final I think they might do well on the night.”

Wild Youth, which is made up of Conor O’Donohue, David Whelan, Ed Porter and Callum McAdam will perform on the first Semi-Final night in Liverpool on Tuesday, May 9th.

There, they will compete against 14 countries, with only ten making it through the Grand Final on Saturday night.

So, do the boys have what it takes?

We sure think so!
