Glenda Gilson shares heartbreak over Xpose axe: “I loved every bit of it”

Glenda Gilson has shared her devastation over Xpose’s recent axing.

After 12 years on air, the entertainment show ceased broadcasting last Friday, a heartbreaking moment for all involved.

Glenda, who had been at the helm of the show since 2008, found the demise particularly hard.

Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine, she said, “Obviously I’m very sad to see Xpose go. I think to see the brand go is the thing that’s killing me because we worked hard to get it to where it was.

“We had some hard days, some great days. When it started it was a tough time, especially when everyone told us it wouldn’t succeed because there weren’t enough celebrities in Ireland to do a show like we did. We did live shows, we did hour long shows, we did everything.”

Glenda continued, “I loved every minute of it. And it was our blood, sweat and tears, all of us; Karen, Lisa, Aisling, Sybil and myself, and the background team that were there from the beginning and then everyone who joined throughout the years.

“We all loved it and had such passion for the show. You just don’t know what the future will bring, but of course I’m sad because it’s the end of an era.”

Despite this, Glenda, who welcomed her first son Bobby to the world last October, reveals her maternity leave is coming to an end, and will be returning to work in Virgin Media next month.

Pick up the latest issue of VIP Magazine, on shelves tomorrow, to read all about the next chapter in her career, life with baby Bobby and her relationship with hubby Rob MacNaugthon.
