Have you seen Gladiator II?

We mean, what else were you doing this weekend?

Of course, our very own Paul Mescal is leading the film on this one playing an adult Lucius, who fans of the original film will remember as the young boy.

And the Maynooth man has become one of the biggest names in the world.

Gladiator II opened in Irish cinemas on Friday and has been smashing box office records.

The movie grossed $1.5m at the Irish Box office making it the biggest opening weekend of 2024 in Ireland.

Directed by Ridley Scott, Gladiator II marks the English director’s biggest release in Ireland as well as Paul Mescal’s most successful film to date in Ireland.

It has yet to open in the States, but we imagine that it will continue to smash records when it hits cinemas worldwide.
