Back in 2014, when Garth Brooks was due to perform in Dublin’s Croke Park, East Coast FM presenter Ryan O’Neill got the opportunity to interview the country music star. He told Garth the story of his mother, and what he did for her will warm your heart.
Ryan’s mother Ann has been a huge Garth Brooks fan for years. In 1997 she had tickets to see the singer play in Dublin, but unfortunately she couldn’t attend because her husband was quite ill at the time. To add to her disappointment, Garth then announced his retirement.
Fast forward to 2014 to when Garth heard of Ann’s story. He insisted that she come to his Croke Park gig, but as we know, this show was cancelled.
Earlier this month however, Ann’s dream came true. The superfan flew to Cleveland, Ohio to see her favourite musician and it was certainly worth the wait.
Ann and Ryan were brought backstage before the gig and got to meet Garth and his wife Trisha Yearwood. They were given a chance to hang out with their hero, whose music helped their family through many tough times.
The Friends In Low Places singer even told his Ohio audience about Ann’s story during the gig.
How sweet is this?
