Fontaines D.C. share emotional tribute to late manager Trevor Dietz

Fontaines D.C.’s long-term manager, Trevor Dietz, has sadly passed away.

The members of the bad, Conor Curley, Carlos O’Connell, Conor “Deego” Deegan III and Tom Coll, shared an emotional tribute to their manager.

They posted a picture of Trevor describing him as the “sixth member” of the band.

“Trevor Dietz,” they simply wrote.

“We are utterly heartbroken to let you know that on Sunday June 7th we lost our dear friend and manager Trevor.

“Trevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band, we have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band. He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always.

“We ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time. RIP Trev.”

Fellow Irish band Kneecap also shared an emotional tribute to Trevor.

“Le croí trom, fagann muid Slán lenar gcara Trev. Cara mór do Kneecap, Do cheol na hÉireann, Don Phalaistín agus don chosmhuintir ar fud na cruinne,” they wrote.

“D’fhág sé lorg orainne agus ar muintir na hÉirinn ag spreagfaidh na glúinta amach romhainn. Ár gcomhbhrón Lena clann agus a chairde Beidh tú in ár gcroíthe go deo Saoirse don Phalaistín.”

They shared the translation which reads: “With a heavy heart, we say goodbye to our good friend Trev, a big friend of the band, of Irish music, for Palestine and for ordinary people around the world

“He left a mark on us and on the people of Ireland that will inspire generations to come Our condolences to his family and friends You’ll be in our hearts forever. Freedom for Palestine.”

The Coronas’ Danny O’Reilly commented on the Fontaine’s post, writing: “Very sorry to hear this. Our thoughts are with you and Trevors family and friends. RIP.”

“Really sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Trev,” Inhaler said.

CMAT also commented: “He was such a lovely lovely man, im so sorry to hear about this.”

Trevor started working at The Workman’s Club as a promoter and booker in 2010 before becoming Fontaine D.C.’s manager.

Rest in Peace, Trevor.
