Five wedding day tips every bride needs to know

Planning a wedding can be tough, not to mention time-consuming. With so many choices to make, many often forget the little things that will make your day go smoother.

If you are a 2024 bride, we’ve got you covered. If you’ve been wondering how to have the most seamless day possible it’s easier than you think. We’ve found some tips that will help to make your day extra special – with no mishaps.

Drink plenty of water and remember to eat

This may seem like an obvious one, but you would be surprised how many brides get dehydrated on the big day. Your wedding day is one of the longest days with lots of standing, dancing and of course drinking. We know, going to the toilet in a wedding dress is a nightmare but we promise you staying hydrated is worth it and you will be the last to leave the dance floor.

With nerves and excitement, brides can often forget to eat or not feel hungry enough. Ensuring you have a substantial meal the morning of your wedding is key to not feeling like you are going to pass out during the photographs.

Give your bridesmaid a clutch with all your belongings

Nine times out of ten, if you do go for a bridal clutch, your bridesmaids end up carrying it, so, you’re better off making sure she has a clutch to carry all your personal belongings.

This will include the lipstick you are wearing, your phone, (no one wants to see their phone in their hand in all the pictures) plasters, setting powder, pain killers, mints, sanitary products, a power bank, and antihistamines – trust us on that one for any of the hay fever girls out there.

Put money behind the bar for yourself

If there’s one thing so many brides forget about it’s this. While most of the time someone will be buying you your drinks, brides often don’t have their card or cash on hand so this is a must.

If you are doing this, make sure the bar staff know that it’s just for the bride and groom’s drinks to prevent any guests from thinking you have a free bar.

Schedule the morning routine

With so many in line for hair and make-up, it’s important that every bride knows which order to go in so that her hair and make-up looks the best and lasts all day and more importantly that it fits into her schedule for the other bits she has to do the morning of.

The morning of the wedding is by far the most hectic part of the day but arguably the most fun. Getting ready with your bridal party is a cherished memory for many brides so having a schedule will help you get the most out of the morning leaving you feeling organised for the day ahead.

Communicate with your photographer

Have an angle that you like best of yourself? Like a certain style of photography? It is essential to have great communication with your photographer as these photos will be treasured for life.

If there are any must have shots or specific requests, make sure to tell your photographer exactly what it is you are looking for.
