The traditional Phoenix Park 4th of July celebrations were originally cancelled this year due to COVID-19, however the US Embassy has decided that the display can go ahead this Saturday, and will be dedicated to frontline workers.
Thousands of men and women across the country have put their lives on the line as they worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic.
Speaking to VIP Magazine recently, Terrie McEvoy said, “It’s just mentally and physically exhausting, but we’re getting there.
“We’re really leaning on each other in the hospitals, I think as long as we have each other’s backs it’ll continue to get easier. It’s all about working as a team.”
Although the event will not be open to the public the fireworks will be seen from the surrounding area and will be streamed live from the Instagram and Facebook page of the US Embassy Dublin, when it begins at 11pm.
US Ambassador to Ireland Edward F. Crawford said that he hopes when people see and hear the fireworks they will “give thanks for their selfless efforts to make us all safer.”
