Brian McFadden has angered his followers after an ‘abhorrent’ tweet about speeding.

The former Westlife singer got hit with a driving ban following a court appearance over his fourth speeding charge.

The 38-year-old appeared in court in Nottingham on Friday, where he was slapped with a six-month driving suspension and a £450 fine.

This was the fourth time the father of two was caught speeding, leaving him with 12 penalty points racked up over the years.

He revealed the news on Twitter stating:

“Just left court in Nottingham. I was Clocked doing 39 in a 30 zone. 6 months suspension and £450 fine. Drink driver crashed his car he got 12 months and an £85 fine. As far as driving to my gigs the prosecution suggested I tweet my followers for a lift! Joke”

When fans took to the comments to remind him about the dangers of speeding, many were shocked by his response.

“There’s a reason the speed limit is 30mph.  ‘If you hit me at 40 miles an hour, there’s around an 80% chance I’ll die. Hit me at 30 and there’s around an 80% chance I’ll live.'” Twitter user Lyndsey Ritchie‏ said.

He responded: “Then I’ll make sure I’m doing 50 so I definitely won’t have to listen to this.”

Twitter users were shocked and took to the comments to react.

“Maybe a charity like could arrange for Brian Mcfadden to meet a victim’s family and then maybe his arrogant views on speeding will change before he hurts someone,” Ritchie‏ replied.

“He’s rich and famous so doesn’t think the rules should apply to him,” another added.

Others hit out saying:

“For all the emergency responders who attend RTC’s, have to deal with these incidents, the casualties, the families, the PTSD, the trauma. For all the people who have lost loved ones in this manner, particularly on , what an abhorrent response,”

“Massively irresponsible reply, pal. Wouldn’t be saying that if one of your family was knocked down at 39mph.”

Brian later took to Twitter saying:

“People on my feed make me laugh!!! thinking I read it and take it to heart!! Your all gas. Loving life!!!”
