Sorcha Furlong has opened up about the ‘incredibly sweet’ way her fiance proposed.
The Fair City star, who plays Orla Kirwan, says it took her by surprise.
Ken, who is a playwright and previously wrote for Fair City, let Sorcha’s dad and her daughter Stella in on the plan.
“My dad knew Ken was planning to propose because he asked for my hand in marriage, which I think is incredibly sweet and romantic.
“So my dad told my mam. The kids knew too, so they had the champagne on stand-by,” she told the RTE Guide.
The pair got engaged over the festive season and Sorcha admits she wasn’t expecting it.
“Ken popped the question on Christmas Eve and it took me totally by surprise,
“We were all watching a Christmas movie and before I knew what was going on, Ken was opening a ring box.”
She went on to describe the proposal as ‘perfect’ and added that the ring is ‘beautiful.’
Earlier this month the actress took to social media to reveal the exciting news.
