Niamh Brennan left Carrigstown last night, and it may be for good.
The character left for her new life in Fiji and was seen on the show leaving for the airport.
There was little fuss or drama about her exit, as she left quietly.
While Clelia Murphy’s exit from the show was simple, fans were unimpressed as they felt such a long-standing character deserved better.
“I’m so angry with Niamh‘s exit, it’s extremely insulting both to the actress & to the viewers who have watched her for 22 years,” one fan said.
They added: “There wasn’t enough focus on Niamh leaving which is an insult to the many years that @clelia_murphy has been in it. She will be really missed.”
Another said: “So annoyed with #FairCity for not giving us a memorable ending for Niamh…”
Some fans thought it was so subtle that they didn’t even realise it was the end of Niamh.
“Wtf? That’s not her last scene, is it?” another viewer said.
