In an exclusive interview with this month’s VIP, Nicky Byrne has revealed that he has not gone to see any of his former Westlife band members’ solo performances.
The 2fm star admitted that he doesn’t like going to concerts after his boyband days, and that it may be because he’s envious of them.
When asked if he went to see Markus Feehily in the 3Arena recently, he replied: “No, I haven’t gone to see any of them, to be honest with you.
“I don’t like going to concerts. There are loads of reasons for that, but one reason is because I have done it and I find it hard to watch. And maybe I’m a bit jealous and want to be up there? I don’t know.”
Nicky also opened up about Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy’s new venture Boyzlife, saying he wishes them all the best – but noted that Westlife was ‘a different band’ after Brian left.
“When five becomes four there’s no majority rule. We signed two or three renegotiations without Brian. We broke new territories without Brian. I wish Brian and Keith all the best, but it’s nothing to do with me.”
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old discussed with us in length his upcoming attempt to achieve Eurovision success. Nicky is this year’s Irish entry, and is hoping to emerge as the winner with his catchy song ‘Sunlight’.
