Maia Dunphy has recently began a new career venture by launching a forum for mothers and pregnant women.
The presenter has one son, Tom, with hubby Johnny Vegas, and decided to launch The M Word, as a place for mothers, and expectant mothers, to go and discuss their experiences.
Maia believes it’s important for people to have somewhere to read open and honest comments about parenthood.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said, “Some women are just expected to naturally cope, naturally deal with parenthood and the burdens that come with it. I can tell you form my experience, that it’s not like that.
“When I spoke to other women, the same theme kept coming up again and again.
“My identity, our identity is being blurred from this top-view narrative on how we should behave as women, as parents. I decided to write about real experiences that happened to me. And when I did, people said, ‘That’s me!’”
