Get excited people – after months of sitting at home with nothing to do and nowhere to go, Dublin Zoo has given us something to be excited about. Announcing their official reopening date.

Following Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s announcement this week on Ireland’s roadmap out of lockdown Dublin Zoo has confirmed that they will be reopening their gates and welcoming us in on the 26th of April.

Sharing their excitement with the news, the team at Dublin Zoo wrote on Social Media: “We are delighted to announce that following the recent announcement from Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Dublin Zoo will be open to the public from the 26th of April 2021 in a reduced capacity and under strict health and safety protocols.

“After more than a year of having to open and close our gates, we are working hard to prepare Dublin Zoo to welcome back our valued visitors once more.“

Where can we buy tickets?

Tickets will not be sold at the gate but rather online instead. This is to allow for a safe environment for all those attending.

The tickets are not currently on sale, but Dublin Zoo has announced that they will be available in the coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye on their social media for that.

Will it be safe?

Dublin Zoo has said that keeping their staff and visitors safe is paramount to them. This means we can expect a covid-safe zone when we visit. This will include a reduced capacity, strict health, and safety protocols, touchless hand sanitising stations throughout, and physical distancing signs all along the trail.

Can I use my annual pass?

Annual pass holders are being offered an extension on their passes for the period of time that the zoo has been closed to when it will reopen.
