Yes, Netflix has just dropped a new film and it already has the internet abuzz. Here’s what you need to know about People We Meet on Vacation.
What is People We Meet On Vacation about?
The new romcom, People We Meet On Vacation, is based on best-selling novel by the romance world’s It Girl, Emily Henry.
Free-spirited Poppy and routine-loving Alex have been unlikely best friends for a decade, living in different cities but spending every summer vacation together since college.
The careful balance of their friendship is put to the test when they begin to question what has been obvious to everyone else: could they actually be the perfect romantic match?
Who stars in the film?
Emily Bader, who starred in the short-lived Prime Video My Lady Jane, will play our leading lady, Poppy. Meanwhile, British actor Tom Blyth, who appeared in The Hunger Games prequel, A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, as President Snow, will play Alex.
Tom got in a bit of hot water late last year after referring to Cillian Murphy as a British actor. But we’ll forgive him, this once!

Is it based on a book?
Yes! The film is based on Emily Henry’s second adult novel, which was published in 2021.
It looks like Emily was heavily involved in the adaptation, and per Variety, two more of her books will be adapted into Netflix films – Happy Place and Funny Story.
Her debut novel, Beach Read, is also set to be turned into a film by 20th Century Studios.
