We’re so excited for Bridgerton to return!
And more importantly, Nicola Coughlan will be on our screens as Penelope, well, Bridgerton now.
Netflix has been sharing casting, first look images and everything in between for Bridgerton season four.
Here’s everything we know so far!

What is Bridgerton season four about?
Benedict Bridgerton will be on the marriage mart this season.
Yes, Luke Thompson’s beloved character will be on the hunt for a wife in the next instalment of the period drama.
The synopsis reads: “The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson).
“Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Of course, Bridgerton is based on books. So readers will already know that Benedict ends up with Sophie Beckett who will be known as Sophie Baek in the show.
And the gorgeous Yerin Ha will play Sophie.
Sophie Baek has been forced to spend much of her life working as a maid for the most demanding employer in the ton.
However, the resourceful Sophie always finds a way to persevere through her circumstances- circumstances that will drastically change after she disguises herself to attend Violet Bridgerton‘s masquerade ball and meets Benedict Bridgerton.

What Bridgerton book is it based on?
We can safely say that the fourth season will at least loosely follow the novel, An Offer from a Gentleman.
The book is inspired by Cinderella as Sophie is the illegitimate child of the Earl of Penwood. When the Earl remarries, her cruel stepmother and stepsisters refuse to include Sophie in the family. They make her life miserable.
She manages to sneak into Lady Bridgerton’s famed masquerade ball, where she runs into Benedict. While sparks fly, the next morning Sophie is punished by her stepmother and ends up leaving London for the countryside.
The book includes a three-year time skip that we’re not sure will happen in the show where the pair are separated. They soon reunite but Sophie is working as a maid. Benedict propositions her and proposes that she could be his mistress.
She rejects him, but she’s far more than Benedict sees. And of course, wise Mama Violet promises Benedict that she would never be angry at him if he chooses to marry someone of a different social class.

Who is in Bridgerton season three?
Luke Thompson will lead this season as Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha joins the cast as Sophie, the love of his life.
We have three more new cast members.
Lady Araminta Gun will be played by Katie Leung. Twice-married and twice-widowed, Araminta has two daughters debuting on the marriage mart this season and she’s feeling the pressure to get at least one of her girls married off. Fabulous, discerning, and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society.
Rosamund Li will be played by Michelle Mao. Beautiful, vain, and eager to please her mother, Rosamund is Araminta’s eldest daughter and most prized possession. Rosamund sets her sights on Benedict this social season. And, just like her mother, Rosamund is determined to get what she wants.
Posy Li will be played by Isabella Wei. Rosamund’s younger, kinder sister is also debuting this year. But Araminta rarely puts the spotlight on her second child. Posy’s chatty, overly friendly demeanour often has her putting her foot in her mouth.
Of course, Nicola Coughlan will return as Penelope Bridgerton and Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton.
Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Simone Ashley (Kate Bridgerton), Victor Alli (Lord John Stirling), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Julie Andrews (Lady Whistledown), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Masali Baduza (Michaela Stirling), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Stirling), Daniel Francis (Lord Marcus Anderson), Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), Polly Walker (Portia Featherington), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich) and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley) will also return.

When is Bridgerton season four out?
We don’t have a release date for the show just yet, but we are hoping that it could be later this year.
Do we have a first look?
Yes, we do!
We got a behind the scenes clip from the filming of season four. And it looks so glamorous and the iconic masquerade ball will kick off the first episode.
Do we have a trailer?
Not yet, unfortunately!

How many seasons of Bridgerton will there be?
As of right now, Netflix has confirmed that there will be four seasons of Bridgerton. But we want eight seasons for each sibling!
Season one focused on Daphne’s romance with Simon while we saw Anthony and Kate fall for each other in season two. Of course Colin and Penelope’s love story was the focus of season three. We’ll get Benedict and Sophie’s love story in the upcoming season.
Now that Netflix has moved away from the book order we have no idea who we’ll see in season four!
We also have a limited prequel series on Queen Charlotte which is currently streaming on Netflix.
Bridgerton season one, two and three are currently streaming on Netflix
