Eric Roberts is doing Donegal proud.
But more importantly, he wants to do his 14-month-old son proud. Eric is the proud father to baby Rían, who is his daddy’s biggest fan.
Speaking to VIP Magazine ahead of the final, he says: “He’s slipping his arms up, and he’s shouting Dada at the television. Nicky Byrne said a few weeks ago that it’ll be nice in a few years for him to be able to watch these things back on YouTube and stuff.
“But realistically, I’ve been watching them back on a Monday with them every week, and it’s so, so special to hear him shouting Dada at the screen. He has no idea what’s going on, but he seems to be taken after his father. He’s got some silky moves in the locker already.”

Well, watch him on Dancing with the Stars 2050!
As for Eric’s plans after the show ends? Well, pampering his wife, Niamh!
“I think my wife would murder me if I didn’t take some time off. People say, ‘How are you coping?’ But it’s not that I have to do this. I get to do this,” he shares.
“My wife is at home with our 14th month old son. It’s been a much bigger challenge for her than it has been for me.

“I’m getting to go out and have the time in my life and getting to have so much fun in rehearsals with everyone, week in, week out.”
He goes on to say: “She’s seven days a week there with our son. I would not have been able to do this or enjoy this experience without the support of her.
“I’m incredibly grateful, and it’s up to me now to spoil her often when the show finishes with a very expensive holiday somewhere, and she’s got to decide where we’re going.”
Of course, there’s only one more show, and the Glitterball is within reach.

“I really, really wanted to be in the final, and there’s a wave of relaxation over me this week, knowing that I’m there,” he explains.
“There’s no pressure and worrying about getting into the following week. We’ve kind of completed the journey. It’s a relief, and but I’m buzzing for the weekend.
“I’m trying not to be supercompetitive because I feel like I have won already. Will I be chomping at the bit to lift the trophy? Yes. But will I beat myself up if I don’t? No!”
The Dancing with the Stars Grand Finale airs on Sunday 15 March at 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
