Irish actor, Emmett Scanlon and his wife Claire Cooper welcomed a baby boy into the world last week. This is the couple’s first child and the Irish actor announced the new with a picture of the tiny newborn’s hand in his, simply captioned; “It’s a boy.”
Now the couple have revealed the name of their gorgeous baby boy with Emmet sharing to Instagram; “Hey world, meet my world. Our world. Meet Ocean-Torin Scanlan…”
Claire revealed to her followers that it wasn’t an easy birth; “After 2 trips to the hospital, 40 hrs of labour & an emergency C section our little boy arrived.”
“So grateful to the entire team who supported us in all our choices at #arroweparkhospital before, during & after – it certainly got complicated in moments but then he’s a wee Scanlan how are we surprised?!”
“Now I must go pinch myself – we made a tiny human.”
The couple tied the knot back in 2016 in New York in front of their closest family and friends. They originally starred together on Hollyoaks, and became a couple soon after.
Speaking to Hello! Magazine about the big day, Dubliner Emmett, who also starred in The Fall, said, “It’s something I’ll never forget. Everyone got behind the wedding with such love that it was overwhelming at times.”
Claire’s dress for the big day was made by Claire Mischevani, and was a mix between chic and bohemian style. The designer opened up to the magazine and said, “Claire was torn, so we had to come up with a design that would encompass both looks.
“It took hundreds of hours to construct and hand-embellish the gown, but Claire was thrilled with the results and so were we.
