Emma Power is a busy woman rubbing shoulders with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars week in and week out.
She jokes that she’s “so used to” her airport routine now. She even has a little pal in the airport!
“The little robot hoover that I’m obsessed with, it has just become a thing,” she laughs as we catch up at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards.
“I love it though. It’s exciting. Like, who wouldn’t enjoy going to London for the day to work!”

And she’s so used to a quick turn around, she reveals that she was able to finish up her radio show at 6pm live from RTÉ studios and arrive at the red carpet by 6:30pm.
“I got my makeup done this morning and it’s still intact, which I’m very happy about. I did my own hair. I was on the show and I was fixing my lip gloss and stuff. The minute six o’clock hit, I was down in the bathroom, put the dress on, and put the gel in the hair.
“I had so many bags leaving the office that the lads who work on the show had to help me out. One was carrying my bag and the other one had my shoes in one hand, my bags in another. Thankfully, I somehow made it down here by 25 past six, and I was off air at six. So it was a lot less stressful than I thought it was going to be.”
Well other than making the red carpet dash look easy, Emma is focusing on her radio show, 2FM Weekend Drive, that she co-hosts with Graham Smyth.
“I think sometimes when you’re on the radio, because it’s such an intimate thing you forget people are listening. You go into the studio, and it’s myself and Graham and our team. Sometimes you can forget how many people are listening.
“I have to say myself and Graham have the nicest listeners ever. They’re texting us nonstop. Everyone’s just really warm, really friendly and really supportive. And I think that really helps when you know that you are talking to like really nice people.”
But that’s not all Emma has in the works. Of course not! She’s a busy woman!
“I have a few projects that I’m working on over the summer that I hope to be launching at the end of the summer. So I’m not going to say much about it now.
“I know it’s really annoying when people are like, ‘Oh, I’m working on something I can’t say’. But I do have something coming in September, which I’m really looking forward to.”
