eir VIP Publishing Power of Women Awards 2024: Nominees for the Tech & Digital award, sponsored by eir

VIP Publishing is delighted to announce that the eir Power of Women Awards are back.

These awards celebrate the best and brightest female entrepreneurs in Ireland, across the worlds of fashion, technology, beauty, lifestyle, wellness and more!

The winners, decided by an expert panel and awarded at an exclusive lunch in Dublin’s Marker Hotel on November 8th, will be profiled in VIP Magazine.

The Tech & Digital award sponsored by eir celebrates the women makes waves in STEM, online, and beyond.

Here’s a bit more information about our inspiring nominees…

Máirín Murray and Vicky Twomey – TechFoundHer

Máirín and Vicky are the co-founders of TechFoundHer in which they “connect impact focused women tech founders in their network with peers, champions, supporters and allies”.

Rena Maycock – Chirp (Formerly Cilter)

Rena is a corporate executive, entrepreneur and is the founder and CEO of Chirp (formerly Cilter Technologies LTD) which is developing child-protection software for Androids.

Tammy Darcy – The Shona Project

In memory of her late sister, Shona, Tammy created The Shona Project. A platform in which young Irish girls are empowered and encouraged to eradicate bullying and rivalry amongst each other, the project is doing important work on and offline.

Claire McSweeney – Kuul Play

Former national athletics champion, Claire McSweeney founded Kuul Play in 2020. It aims to provide curriculum aligned, gamified and interactive learning content for P.E. teachers and students.

Niamh Donnelly – Akara

Niamh is the co-founder and chief robotics officer of Akara Robotics. Here she has a strong involvement in software development and product deployment. She was awarded the EU Women Innovator Award in 2022.

Anna Carmody – Little Red Edu

Anna is a former student at NCAD and the founder of Little Red Edu. It is an ed-tech platform that allows children to learn English as a foreign language through play and using its online resources.

Rosanne Longmore – Coroflo

Rosanne is the CEO of Coroflo. Rosanne turned a “Real-life problem into a new product innovation” with her breastfeeding shield and app. Coroflo aims to provide women with the information and knowledge they need to breastfeed.

Deirdre Lyons – Examfly

Examfly is an ed-tech resource to help students study for tax and accounting exams. Deirdre is a UCC law graduate and after lecturing highly intelligent students and noticing that even they were struggling she decided something had to change. Examfly makes studying enjoyable.
