eir VIP Publishing Power of Women Awards 2024: Nominees for the Sustainability Award, sponsored by Suir Engineering

VIP Publishing is delighted to announce that the eir Power of Women Awards are back.

These awards celebrate the best and brightest female entrepreneurs in Ireland, across the worlds of fashion, technology, beauty, lifestyle, wellness and more!

The winners, decided by an expert panel and awarded at an exclusive lunch in Dublin’s Marker Hotel on November 8th, will be profiled in VIP Magazine.

The Sustainability award sponsored by Suir Engineering celebrates the women whose businesses focus on mindful production, care for the earth, and pre-loved items.

Here’s a bit more information about our inspiring nominees…

Nicky & Ella Dwyer – Drobey

Drobey is the fashion rental platform that aims to take the guilt out of keeping up with fast-changing fashion trends and experimenting with new, one-off looks.

Nicky and Ella Dwyer set up their business as they felt that the rental market in Ireland was lagging behind that of the UK. They want to offer so much more from style rentals with Drobey.

Ella de Guzman – Siopaella

After moving from Canada to Ireland, Ella de Guzman set up Siopaella in Temple Bar in 2011.

She’s a big fan of thrifting and vintage fashion, and wanted to start her own consignment designer exchange store in Dublin. Siopaella sells pre-loved luxury and is adored by buyers across the country.

Sarah Fliessbach – Shareclub

Shareclub helps companies create a cleaner planet by tackling disposable packaging and encouraging a zero waste culture.

The award winning start-up wants to transform the way Ireland approaches single use items, and make a significant impact on sustainability and waste reduction.

Fiona Fahy – Feed Me Mother

Winner of VISA Ireland’s ‘She’s Next’ programme and mother of two Fiona Fahy launched her online breastfeeding brand, Feed Me Mother, to help new mothers feel more comfortable while breastfeeding.

The brand includes sustainable clothing to make breastfeeding more comfortable and high-quality pieces made to empower women on their breastfeeding journey.

Jess Dollinger – The Good Neighbour

This Dublin based refill store has got a zero-waste, package-free mentality. Founder Jess Dollinger set up the store in 2019, and has been on a mission to create a more sustainable way of shopping ever since.

The Good Neighbour carries over 600 bulk foods, liquids, and cleaning products, and personal hygiene products.  Customers can bring in their own containers from home, and do a full shop with no single-use plastic.

Aisling Cullen – Thanks Plants

Aisling Cullen set up Thanks Plants in 2020, but she’s been working in the food industry all her life.

The brand’s range of plant based sausages, burgers, and roasts are delicious, and are helping the planet by allowing customers to eat less meat.

Nicola Connolly – Nunaïa

After spending time living and working with local communities on the Galapagos islands, the Ecuadorian Amazon and the Andes Mountains of Peru, Nicola Connolly knew she wanted to bring a raw, ‘soil to skin’ ethos back to Ireland.

Skincare brand Nunaïa includes moisturisers, serums, cleansing balms, and lots more. All of their products are made with ethically sourced ingredients from the earth, that are plant based, bio-degradable, and certified organic and certified natural by Eco-cert COSMOS.

Fran Fogarty – LilyMais

Fran Fogarty is passionate about three things – fashion, the environment, and the Dingle Peninsula. And all of them feature in her sustainable fashion and art company, LilyMais.

All of their products are designed to be circular, and are hand-made here in studio by people who care about the environment. There really is so much you can do with an upcycled cotton towel!
