eir VIP Publishing Power of Women Awards 2024: Nominees for the New Founder award, sponsored by Weir & Sons

VIP Publishing is delighted to announce that the eir Power of Women Awards are back.

These awards celebrate the best and brightest female entrepreneurs in Ireland, across the worlds of fashion, technology, beauty, lifestyle, wellness and more!

The winners, decided by an expert panel and awarded at an exclusive lunch in Dublin’s Marker Hotel on November 8th, will be profiled in VIP Magazine.

The New Founder award sponsored by Weir & Sons honours the new businesses and brands making waves in the Irish market, from beauty to drinks to health.

Here’s a bit more information about our inspiring nominees…

Suzy Griffin Dunne – Hildun Beauty

Hildun Beauty is a makeup range of high performance luxury products. Founder Suzy wanted to create and develop a new era of high performing beauty products with formulas that would instantly wow both makeup lovers and professional artists.

Ngozi Elobuike – Hi Spirits Wine Club

Hi Spirits Wine Club is a community of young wine enthusiasts celebrating Black culture, while exploring wines and spirits from around the world.

The brand was founded in June 2023 by cultural broker and wine enthusiast, Ngozi Elobuike. The collective hosts monthly events which are “full bodied and high spirited”.

Olivia Humphreys – Athena

Student Olivia Humphreys was inspired to rethink how scalp cooling was done after seeing the firsthand effects that chemotherapy-induced hair loss can have on a person.

After her mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, she developed Athena, a low cost, accessible and user friendly cooling cap. Humphrey’s invention received the National James Dyson Award, aiding her with the much needed support to continue to develop Athena.

Destiny Ayo Vaughan – Mind the Gap

Mind The Gap Ireland is a charity organisation dedicated to raising awareness about Sexual Abuse in Ireland and providing support for survivors.

Founded by Destiny Ayo Vaughan, the charity aims to create a safe space for survivors and victims to share their stories as well as seek help and support. Mind the Gap also aims to educate the public on the issue of sexual abuse.

Evie and Eliza Ward – Nutshed

Sisters Evie and Eliza from Tipperary have always been surrounded by artisan foods.They believe in conscious eating which is environmentally friendly but also delicious.

All of Nutshed’s products are handmade and made from quality ingredients, focusing on different peanut butter variants as well as plant based treats. The duo have found great success and have even managed to break into South Korean food market.

Ellie Haughney – Anam Cosmetics

Anam Cosmetics is a makeup brand that produces vegan, cruelty free and environmentally sustainable makeup.

Founder Ellie Haughney focuses heavily on creating eco-friendly makeup through its packaging and the product itself. In 2023, Anam Cosmetics arrived on to the market with three different shades of biodegradable glitter eyeshadows.

Shona Mahon – Speedy Lash

With years of experience, lash technician Shona Mahon founded Wink with Mink in 2019 and now has launched her Speedy Lash Starter Kit – 7 day wear false lashes that you can apply at home.

Shona created Speedy Lash as lash extensions are not accessible to everyone, whether that be due to time, money or allergies.

Susan Fox & Carly Colgan – Ealu Moments

Ealu Moments is an Irish made body care range that is vegan, cruelty free and use natural ingredients. Carly runs the beauty, lifestyle and travel blog ‘Live Lavishly’ and Susan is a skincare expert with over 3 decades of experience in the beauty industry.

Ealu Moments uses bespoke Irish made formulas that are packed with active ingredients and natural oils. The brand believes that the body deserves just as much care and focus as the face.
