eir VIP Publishing Power of Women Awards 2024: Nominees for the Hair Care award, sponsored by Kérastase

VIP Publishing is delighted to announce that the eir Power of Women Awards are back.

These awards celebrate the best and brightest female entrepreneurs in Ireland, across the worlds of fashion, technology, beauty, lifestyle, wellness and more!

The winners, decided by an expert panel and awarded at an exclusive lunch in Dublin’s Marker Hotel on November 8th, will be profiled in VIP Magazine.

The Hair Care award sponsored by Kérastase celebrates the women creating incredible hair care brands and shaping the Irish industry with their products.

Here’s a bit more information about our inspiring nominees…

Denise Phillips – Pelo/Voduz

Denise is a professional hairdresser and hair loss practitioner who founded Pelo Hair Salon and Academy. Denise also co-founded Voduz along with BPerfect founder Brenden McDowell in 2019. Voduz sells high-quality products and hair tools with infrared technology to keep hair healthy.

Anita Donohue – ANNUTRi

Annita Donohue, who began her career as a beauty therapist, is the co-founder of ANNUTRI which was founded in 2020. ANNUTRI creates high-quality hair and skin supplements. Since their launch, they now have a whole range of products including the Glow it and Grow it oils and supplements.

Claire Fullam – Remi

After losing 90 percent of her hair in 2016 due to Alopecia Areata,the founder of Remi, Claire Fullam was inspired to become a Trichologist. Since then, she has created an online clinic, Trua, to help people suffering from Scalp issues. Remi is a vegan and cruelty- free brand that puts scalp care and health first and foremost in their products.

Nancy Cavanagh – Belle Hair Extensions

Nancy Cavanagh is an entrepreneur and founder of Belle Hair Salon in Galway. Nancy is the creator behind the viral Belle hair extension brush and her own range of hair extensions.

Helen Reavey – Act +Acre

Professional hairstylist and trichologist Helen Reavey is the founder of Act +Acre, the world’s first cold compress hair wellness brand. After many years in the industry, Helen came to the realisation that poor scalp health was a common issue and that is what inspired her to set up her company. Act+Acre has a vast range of products for all hair types.

Stephanie Nwambu – Callah Crowns

Stephanie Nwambu is an award-winning hair stylist who specialises in Afro-Carribean hair. Stephanie is one of very few hairstylists in the country who is able to work with all types of hair. After seeing a gap in the market for people with textured hair she wanted to create a place where their hair needs could be recognised.

Aine Kennedy – Smooth Stick

Entrepreneur Aine Kennedy launched The Smooth Company in 2022. The viral first product, the Smooth Stick, was created to tame flyaways, and baby hairs became an instant success. The product was even recently used by former Love Islander Molly Mae, in a GRWM. Aine has added to the collection since with the Smooth Gel and Smooth Travel Brush.

Mairead Ronan – Faro

Mairead Ronan former Today FM host and presenter of Ireland’s Fittest Family saw a gap in the market for the perfect hairbrush and vowed to fill it. Along with her business partner Debbie Lawless, she created Faro. The company has a range of brushes that are smoothing, easy to use and help you achieve a near-perfect blow dry at home.
