Ed Sheeran kicked off his world tour in Croke Park last night to a massive crowd. But not everyone was paying attention according to RTÉ’s Des Cahill.
The sports presenter explained that his daughter-in-law noticed the woman sitting in front of them was busy watching a hurley match on her phone instead of focusing on the concert.
Finding the humour in someone going to Croke Park to watch a hurley match on their phone, Des took to social media sharing a photo of the incident and writing; “The woman sitting in front of my daughter-in-law at Ed Sheeran concert is watching the Hurling on her phone!!”
“That’s what Croke Park is for… watching Matches!! ”
Des wasn’t the only famous face attending the concert.
Sports commentator Marty Morrissey, Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, and Tyrone GAA player Conor Meyler were all in attendance and had a great time.
Discussing the gig, Marty wrote, “So there we were…the three of us at the Ed Sheeran Concert in Croke Park discussing who would win the All Ireland Football title this year …Tyrone’s Conor Meyler and Westlife’s Nicky Byrne !!!”
“Great to meet my buddies . Ye made the night lads !! And as for Ed Sheeran ….we all thought he was fantastic !! Great night in Croke Park !”
Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore was also in attendance and shared plenty of videos from the performance.
