Eamonn Holmes has opened up about his health concerns, revealing that he worries he won’t live much longer.
Speaking on The Journey podcast with Pete Snodden, Eamonn spoke about losing his father to a heart attack when he was just 64 years old. At 60-years old, Eamonn is four years younger than his father was when he passed away. The TV-presenter revealed that he worries about health issues being passed down or facing a similar situation that his father did.
Eamonn explains: “You know, my father was dead at 64. He died of a heart attack. And I sort of think to myself, that gives me four years.
Butting in to stop Eamonn thinking that way, his wife Ruth Langsford said: ‘Don’t talk like that,’ but you do think like that.’

This comes as Eamonn recently spoke out about his father’s death and the impact it had on him during his appearance on Channel 4’s Gogglebox.
Following a scene where a young boy gave his father lifesaving CPR after a heart attack Eamonn related to the boy and spoke about his own experience. However, his comments were edited out of the show and replaced with a joke he had made, which Eamonn was unhappy with.
Taking to Twitter to share his thoughts Eamonn said:
“I am hurt beyond belief that @C4Gogglebox chose not to use me talking about my Father dying from a Heart Attack at the side of a road and replace it with a funny story following a young lad giving his Father CPR . Idiotic and cruel edit.”
Continuing on he added:
“How my father died was a particularly horrible experience for my Mother, my younger brother and his friend who were all in the car. The resuscitation in The BBC Ambulance programme was as close as could be to my Dad’s passing. Yet I am the one edited to make it look like a laugh.”
Gogglebox issued an apology after Eamonn shared his thoughts.
