Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford announced that their marriage had come to an end after 14 years over the weekend.
Rumours swirled that the Northern Irish presenter was left “devastated” by the split.
And now he has broken his silence over the divorce, after being in a relationship with Ruth since 1996.
He appeared on his TV show on controversial British station GB News and briefly mentioned the split.
He was absent from the show on Monday as it was a bank holiday in the UK.
However, when he settled into his chair on Tuesday morning he was quick to thank viewers for their support.
“Before we move on I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” he said.
He also hinted at how he spent his weekend, saying: “What a weekend it was.”
He went on to say: “The FA Cup Final, one of the greatest cup finals that have ever been, It just got me there, It was emotional.”
While Eamonn returned to hosting duties immediately after the news was released, it has been reported that Ruth won’t be returning to Loose Women this week.
