Appearing on Ask Me Anything With Angela Scanlon this weekend Donal Skehan opened up about how he feels comfortable in his own skin and decided to stop dying his hair.
Starting their chat off with the topic of his light locks Angela said, “You’ve gone full silver fox?!”
Donal replied, “I’ve been dying my hair since I was 23. I remember seeing my first grey really young and I remember just around the time our first [child] Noah was born [I was] sitting on the loo waiting for the dye to turn going, this is really tragic…This really needs to stop.”
Speaking of when he decided to completely stop dying it he said, “It was pure laziness… I was kind of letting it go a little bit, when Covid happened and there were no hair dressers, not that they did it anyways, I thought, ‘Ah feck it I’m just going to go for it.’
“It’s quite liberating, you get to be who you are,” he continued.
Although Donal likes to embrace his greys himself, he still has a sense of humour when others make comments on his hair, he explained;
“I see people on Twitter who haven’t watched my show in a while and tunes in a year later and say ‘Dow has Donal Skehan gone from 16 to 40 overnight?
“You kind of get to a point in your life where it doesn’t really matter anymore and you’re comfortable in your own skin that’s what it comes down to,” he said.
We are glad to see Donal feeling so confident in himself, the silver fox look is perfect!
