Earlier this year, Doireann Garrihy announced that she would be hanging up her mic.

She stepped away from her position in 2FM in June.

Only a few weeks later, Donncha O’Callaghan also announced that he would be leaving the station.

But worry not because Doireann, Donncha and their former cohost Carl Mullen are as close as ever.

Doireann shared a snap of the trio this week.

They had reunited to support Donncha as his children’s book, Disaster Dad, hit bookshelves.

“Carl and I – two proud parents. Disaster Dad by @donnchaocallaghan is OUT NOW in all good book shops!!!” Doireann enthused.

Her followers were quick to share their love of the trio and admitting how much they missed them on air.

“Mornings are not the same without you three together!” one wrote.

“Only two things to say here. Your suit is FABLISS and weekday mornings are not the same without ye all,” another said.

A third commented: “I love Carl and Afric but seeing you 3 together this has cheered me right up!”

Carl has been joined by Aifric O’Connell on the show now to wake the nation up.

The pair had previously hosted Weekend Breakfast together in 2019 before Carl joined the weekday morning lineup in 2021.
