Doireann Garrihy welcomed her first child with hubby Mark Mehigan in October.
Now, one month on, she has opened up about the realities of being a mother.
While Rosie has been an absolute dote, Doireann confessed that she is finding one part of motherhood particularly difficult.
During an Instagram Q&A, she was asked about feeding her newborn.
“I’ve been dodging this question because nothing could have prepared me for the mixed messaging and overall sentiment around breastfeeding and the last thing I want is to add to that for anyone who is expecting or is on the journey themselves,” she shared on Instagram.
“I have found it to be hands down the most challenging part of postpartum – mentally, physically, emotionally, SOCIETALLY. The list goes on.
“Anyway, I am breastfeeding and pumping and am wrecked. Taking each day as it comes. I didn’t have a birth plan and I certainly don’t have a feeding plan!”
She asked her followers to share their experience with feeding their babies.
The 2FM presenter also revealed that she underwent an “unplanned” C-section.
“I’ll share my birth story at some point,” she promised.
In October, Doireann shared the news that they had welcoemd their daughter into the world.
“Our baby, Rosie. A love like this we’ve never known,” she wrote.
