Another year around the sun is cause for celebration, but for good pals Doireann Garrihy and Carl Mullan it’s the perfect time to play a hilarious prank.
So as Doireann celebrates her 31st birthday today, Carl decided to bring back an old birthday tradition of his.
Taking to Instagram stories, Carl informed fans of his plan to surprise Doireann as she made her way into work.
“It’s Doireann’s birthday today and in what I’m now going to call a tradition even though it only ever happened one other time, it’s time for Doireann’s tradition, welcome to work on her birthday.”
Carl proceeds to video Doireann walking down a ramp as he hides behind a door at the other end.
Just as Doireann opens the door and walks through, Carl jumps up from the ground, screaming “Good Morning” into her face.
Doireann is of course less than impressed with her fellow 2FM presenter before bending over in laughter with the fright.
“Oh God!” she shouted back while hitting Carl with her jacket.
In a more heartfelt tribute, boyfriend Mark Mehigan also had a surprise up his sleeves for Doireann as she woke up this morning.
“We get it Mark, you have a girlfriend,” he jokingly captioned it.
