It’s easy to forget that Doireann Garrihy started off her journey on Snapchat. She would do impressions to the delight of her followers.
Soon she was a presenter on SPIN before landing presenting gigs on telly as well as her comedy skit show, The Doireann Project.
It wasn’t long before she was announced as the new presenter of the 2FM Breakfast Show.
Before Christmas it was confirmed that she would be joining Jennifer Zamparelli as presenter of Dancing with the Stars.
The series came to an end last week with Doireann jetting off to Spain with her partner Mark Mehigan.
Now she has time to relax and reflect she was overcome with nostalgia as she confessed she “could never have dreamt” of her current career.
Sharing a picture from the finale, Doireann wrote: “Can’t believe this was only a week ago… already feels like a lifetime ago. From getting the job back in September up to last Sunday… everything has revolved around DWTS.“
She explained that she had been in Spain the week before her screen test for the position and was overcome with nerves.
“I was prepping for my DWTS screen test…the madness in the gym was the best distraction from the nerves, hence my going back every day.
“I know I haven’t been that active on Instagram in terms of talking to the camera, I’ve weirdly felt like sharing too much or being too comfortable about it all would jinx me and I would do a s***e job on the show.“
She added that she chose not to go on Twitter during her time on the show which she admits was the best decision.
“Instagram comments and DMs have been nothing but positive. So grateful, thank you so much.
“I feel like I’ve come a long way since the Snapchat days. Snapchat me could never have dreamt of any of this.“
She concluded by saying: “I’m so excited for the next chapter of projects… SECRET PROJECTS GIRLIES.“
We can’t wait to see what she’s up to next.
