We really feel for Colin Farrell on this one – it seems his new movie ‘Solace’ will be pulled from cinema screens.
The big-budget flick, co-starring Hannibal star Anthony Hopkins has had a poor opening weekend in the UK and is now expected to be pulled from several cinemas, according to Goss.ie
Irish actor Colin is no doubt highly disappointed that his latest film, a thriller about a psychic who works with the FBI in order to hunt down a serial killer, took in just €425,000 after it debuted in 332 cinemas across Britain.
In more positive news for the heart-throb, his other new movie ‘The Lobster’ has been receiving rave reviews. Colin will be returning to his native Dublin next week for the Irish premiere – just down the road from VIP Towers in Smithfield Square!
The red carpet screening will take place in the Lighthouse Cinema on October 8. The True Detective star stars alongside Rachel Weisz, Ben Whishaw and John C Reilly in the flick, which has already won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
The premise of the movie is, eh, slightly bizarre: it’s set in the near future where single people are transported to The Hotel where they must marry within 45 days or face being transformed into an animal of their choosing and released into The Woods.
Hopefully this one will perform a little better in the box office…
