It was definitely a shock when Amber Wilson’s name was called as the third person to leave Dancing with the Stars on Sunday night.
Amber and her professional partner, Alex Vladimirov, started the night by bringing a modern country twist to the floor with an American Smooth to Chappell Roan’s smash hit The Giver.
“You’ve definitely come so far in confidence and performance, but for me, I don’t think there was enough smoothness in the American smooth,” commented head judge Oti Mabuse.
While Arthur Gourounlian agreed, adding: “It was groovy, but try to relax and enjoy more.”

Amber received five points from all the judges except Oti, who awarded her four points, giving her a total score of 19.
It was tough to see her go as she tells VIP Magazine: “I’ve had a great experience. It’s disappointing. I would’ve loved to have continued.”
However, she was quick to add: ” I am delighted that I decided to do it.”

Amber and Alex made history as the first all-female couple on Dancing with the Stars Ireland. Something Amber is incredibly proud of.
“I was putting myself out there in terms of my comfort zone, doing something I hadn’t done before, but when there was the opportunity to be in an all-female partnership, that I suppose, clinched it for me, because I wasn’t necessarily the norm for me growing up.”
Dancing With The Stars continues on Sunday nights from 6:30pm on RTE One.
