Daniel O’Donnell has warned fans to be vigilant online, as there’s a fake profile impersonating him, getting in touch with people up and down the country.

The country crooner revealed this fake page has been messaging fans and trying to incite conversation and get them to contact a very specific address.

A spokesperson for Daniel urged people not to engage with the page, and stay safe online.

“It has been brought to our attention that another page is circulating impersonating Daniel,” the statement began.

“The page is under the name Danielfrancis O Donnell. The page is adding people as a friend and asking them to email them to a particular email address.

“Please don’t add this page or contact this person. Daniel never sends personal messages on his Facebook page. Please just be aware.”

Fans responded under the post, with some revealing that they had been approached but quickly shut down the conversation.

One woman said, “I started replying until I realised what he was asking was not right.”

Another added, “I thought it was his page and I sent a message telling him that a fan from Iowa had passed away.

“He responded personally and we messaged back and for a few days. Then he said he was going to send tickets to his nixt concert in Iowa (this was before Covid). But, I had to send him $100 to cover the international ticket transfer.

“When I asked any questions about it I got the same generic answer. So naturally I stopped the corresponding.”

Remember to always remain safe online and never share personal details.
