Daniel O’Donnell has revealed that he’ll be taking on the role of Danny Zuko as he dances the cha cha on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
Speaking on the Ray D’Arcy Show, he admitted, “I’m Danny Zuko. I never thought I’d see the day. All the Grease fans would be horrified but it’s fun.”
Daniel will be taking a trip down memory lane, as he went to see Grease live when he was a young man in school – he’ll definitely be able to pull some inspiration from that!
“I remember going to Letterkenny in school to see Grease when it came out. Did I ever think that I could be pretending to be Danny Zuko doing the cha cha,” he laughed.
Despite looking forward to taking on the new role, Daniel’s worried about the amount of moves he needs to remember for tonight’s dance.
“Earlier this week, I thought I’d never figure the steps out. It’s hard when you’re on the floor. I need to pretend I’m at the practice room,” he said.
But regardless of the nerves, he can’t wait to get dressed up and give it a bash: “I’ll come out all gelled up, wearing a leather jacket and jeans.”
