Now that we’re officially counting down the days to Christmas, the majority of us have the tree up, have started our Christmas shopping and are dreaming of the amazing annual dinner.
But of course, Christmas will look different this year for many, Daniel and Majella O’Donnell reveal to VIP Magazine what their Christmas will be like this year.
Majella revealed that they didn’t wait too long to put up the decorations this year. “We do have the trees up, we put them up VERY early this year! I never ever put the tree up before December, but this year was different.” Before Daniel added, “And loads of people I have noticed have done the same.”
Majella then continued, “It’s just something to do and it looks nice at night. I’m also way ahead on Christmas presents purely because of online shopping, which I never did before. I always thought before I was too impatient for online shopping, but you buy it and two days later there’s a man at your door, it’s great.
While the pair aren’t sure exactly how Christmas will play out this year, Daniel shares that they’re waiting to see what the guidelines will say, while Majella added, “My mother started living with us this year, so she will be with us, and what we’d love is if my daughter and her husband and our two grandkids could come from Co. Down, too.”
And what about memories from Christmas past? Majella reveals the one that springs to mind immediately. “My overriding memory as a child is going to bed on Christmas Eve with no decorations up, and then waking up on Christmas morning with everything up. And, Santa had been! It was like someone had come and sprinkled magic dust. It was amazing.”
While Daniel shares the first present he remembers from Santa, “I can remember getting the holster and the guns and the cowboy outfits. And a Scalextric car racing set.”
