The professional dancers on RTE’s Dancing with the Stars have signed a two year contract with the show, which all but confirms it will be returning for a second series.

The 12 championship dancers including; Ryan McShane, Ksenia Zsikhotska, John Edward Nolan and Karen Byrne, all have clauses in their contract to take part in a second series of the show, according to Evoke.ie.

RTE won’t officially confirm if the show will be returning until the first series finishes, but it seems that our professional dancers are in high global demand, as Ireland is being used as a template by other countries who are looking to join the franchise.

‘Already we have had a team from a Brazilian TV network over scouting the show.” a source told Evoke.ie

“They have just bought the DWTS format and have been looking at the Irish version as a template.

“RTE won’t actually commission a second series until the current series has run but the ratings and the national interest certainly makes it look like a forgone conclusion.”
