Dáithí Ó’Sé has shared his delight at having the full Today Show team back in action! The program has had lots of temporary changes over the last while, with co-host Maura Derrane reducing her days, Sinead Kennedy being off on maternity leave and Dáithí himself being off with Covid.
However now, for the first time in a long while, the show is returning to some normality after multiple presenters filled in whilst Sinead was off including Una Healy, Nuala Carey, Emer O’Neill, Trishauna Archer and Rachel Allen.
Now that Sinead has returned she is back working with Dáithí on Mondays and Fridays while Maura co-hosts with him Tuesday – Thursday. Sharing his delight that she’s back with RSVP Dáithí said; “I’ve known Sinead for 20 years and she was really missed on the show. It’s great to have her back.”
Continuing he added; “She’s a ball of energy when she comes in, she’s always up for the craic and she’s always up for a laugh.”
“You can slag her away and no notice will be taken. I know she was delighted to be back as well. It feels like she just had a long weekend off and she never really left the place.”
However, he also added that it was fun to get the experience of working with different multiple different people for a while; “It was nice to have other people on the show for a change, but now it’s like the band is back together. There’s a chemistry there when you’re used to working with people.”
Sinead Kennedy and her husband Conor Kirwan welcomed their first child to the world in March of last year, a little girl named Indie.
In a Q&A with her followers on Instagram, Sinead confirmed the good news that she was coming back to our screens this year. A follower also asked Sinead how she is, she replied; “I’m great, really great, thanks so much for asking! In fact loads of you have been asking how I am, thank you.”
“Missing @daithiose and the craic to be fair but back for more madness in January.”
