It might just be the biggest job going in Ireland!

Joe Duffy announced earlier this month that he would be leaving Liveline after two decades helming the beloved show.

Rumours have swirled over who could possibly take over the show.

Dáithí Ó Sé has become the favourite to fill the slot, according to bookmaker Ladbrokes.

Dáithí is at 3/1 to replace Joe, with an announcement expected from RTE over the summer.

Meanwhile, Boylesports has tipped him at 6/1 to take over the show.

Speaking to Extra he said: “I’m as in the dark as anyone. All I know is that I’m meeting up with the bosses in the middle of June to discuss what’s going on and going forward.”

Dáithí isn’t the only person who is being eyed up for the role. Tommy Tiernan also threw his hat in the ring over the weekend.

Speaking to RTÉ’s Brendan O’Connor, the comedian turned chat show host said: “On the chat show, it’s very easy for me to keep asking questions because I am curious about people.

“It’s very easy for me to have long conversations with people I meet at the street and not to think that my curiosity is nosiness – it probably kind of is – but be naturally curious. You know, I’d be great on Liveline.”

Jennifer Zamparelli’s name is also in the ring for Liveline host, although she told VIP Magazine: ” I don’t know who can fill his shoes. He’s just such an icon and so amazing at what he does and we’re so used to his lovely voice. I think it’ll be tricky for anybody to fill those shoes. So don’t put money on me, because you might lose.”
