Curtis Pritchard issues apology over distasteful jokes: “They were completely off track and went too far”

Curtis Pritchard has issued an apology over his distasteful jokes on Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer comedy sketch.

The reality star was joined by the likes of Katie McGlynn and Shaun Rider for the charity event – but unlike the others, Curtis came under fire for his content.

He was booed during his sketch for making crass comments and viewers at home weren’t impressed by his remarks.

Curtis has since claimed he didn’t mean to cause any offence and understands now that he went ‘too far’.

Speaking on his podcast AJ vs Curtis he said, “I just want to quickly say I recently took part in the Stand Up To Cancer initiative with Channel 4 where I was challenged to become a stand-up comedian.

“Some of the jokes, they were completely off track and went too far and I didn’t realise that at the time but I realise it now and I just want to apologise to everybody and anybody that I have offended.

“It was never intentional at all, it really wasn’t. It was a great show to be a part of and I was very fortunate to be able to take part but I just want to apologise and say I am sorry for the jokes.”

Curtis will soon be appearing on another Channel 4 show, Hollyoaks, alongside his brother AJ.

The pair are no strangers to our tv screens, as they’ve previously appeared on the likes of RTE’s Dancing with the Stars, Strictly Come Dancing and most recently, Love Island, I’m A Celeb and Celebs Go Dating.

This will be their first major acting stint – but it’s not known how long they’ll be on the soap. Their scenes are due to air over the coming weeks.
