Earlier this week, it was reported that the Rose of Tralee could be getting a shake-up this summer.
While Dáithí Ó Sé will continue on as the host of the series, it’s believed that he will be joined by a brand new co-host to breathe some new life into the event.
So the question on everyone’s lips now is: Who could be joining him?
With names like Doireann Garrihy, Kathryn Thomas and Anna Daly all already in the mix, it looks like comedian, Deirdre O’Kane is the latest celebrity tipped to co-host with Dáithí.
Yes, according to BoyleSports, Deirdre is tipped to co-host with odds at 4/1.
However, Jennifer Zamparelli has also crept up with odds at 6/1, while Doireann Garrihy and Anna Geary tied as third favourites with odds at 7/1.
Either way, it looks like the odds of a woman joining Dáithí in Tralee are quite high!
This would mean that, if a woman does come on as a presenter, it would be the second time in Rose of Tralee’s history that a woman would present the event.
Deirdre is no stranger to hosting duties, having recently just presented her sixth year at the Irish Film And Television Awards ceremony last month.
Has she got what it takes?
We sure think so!
We’ll keep you posted on this one.
