In 2022, Michael Flatley shocked fans when he released his very own spy thriller movie, Blackbird, which he not only wrote, and directed but starred in too.
The film, featured the Lord of the Dance legend as a secret agent turned nightclub owner.
Michael played Victor Blackley, aka Blackbird, a retired M16 spy who tries to escape his troubled past by opening a nightclub in the Caribbean.
Two years later, we can’t help but wonder if a sequel is on the cards.
Despite receiving mixed reviews at the time, the dancer has now revealed that he has in fact received two offers to make the sequel to Blackbird.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Michael admitted that he promised himself he would do a Whiskey launch this year before touring the UK with Riverdance, along with planning a Christmas show.
For these reasons, he noted that another movie will sadly have to take a backseat…for the time being that is!
“The movie has to take a little back seat but that Blackbird I’ve done has done incredibly well for me,” he added.
“So successful that as of June 1st, we have gone onto iTunes and Apple TV globally.”
He was supported by his wife Niamh and son Michael Jr, who tend to stay out of the limelight, while former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was also in attendance on the night alongside Pat Shortt.
Sure, it’s all go!
