Following Ryan Tubridy’s departure from RTÉ, the former Late Late Show host has apparently been approached by a UK TV channel to discuss a role with the station.
This left people wondering, what the presenter might do next.
Well looks like he could be in luck, as according to the Irish Sun Bosses at GB News contacted Ryan late last week to discuss a possible job opportunity.
“Ryan Tubridy is a fantastic broadcaster,” GB News editorial director Michael Booker told the publication.
“A people’s presenter with great wit and empathy,” he continued.
“We keep a keen eye on broadcasters across the UK and Ireland,” Mr Booker added while refusing to discuss negotiations or contact between the station and Ryan.
An industry source also revealed that even if Ryan doesn’t sign with the channel, it will certainly “pique” interest from other UK broadcasters.
Now it looks like Brendan Courtney and Oliver Callan are the frontrunners to take over, according to odds from Ladbrokes.
Both men have previously stepped in to fill in for Ryan over the last few weeks and they have been a hit with listeners.
As far as Ryan’s broadcasting career goes, who knows? Maybe we’ll see him popping up on our screens live from the UK very soon!
